Maybe one day I’ll forget the way

You’d grin at me each morning

Or how you’d say “I love you” every time

How your voice sounds when you’re tired

When you’d hold my hand in winter

Maybe one day I’ll forget you smiling

Or draw the shapes of your face

Maybe I’ll forget how you used to make me feel

The love we both shared together

How I adored you so

Maybe one day I’ll forget the mornings

Of you standing in the kitchen

Pouring fresh coffee into two mugs

One for you and the other for me

Maybe one day I’ll forget how your kiss felt like

How sweet it used to be

Even if you’re not here anymore

Your voice in my mind still haunts me

Your scent still lingers around

Your sweet smile etched in my memory

I never thought it’d be so hard

To try to forget you

But if I say maybe I can

Maybe one day, I’ll be able to

Forget you completely.

But I realize I can never do it.

I miss you too much.
