May I Dream?

By: Diamond Smith

Nightmare

You are more of an illusion of my actual fear

Two-fifths of a feeling, with no prediction near

It happens so commonly yet I'm not afraid

So feeling too calmly would surely fade

Loving another like it was never done

Flying above with my hands in bonds

Using a power to defeat a monster

Establishing a treaty with nothing to offer

Breathing upon a skin I have never seen

Tearing my broken memories piece by piece

Crying down on my knees so insecurity could beam

But everything and nothing is what it seems

Until tomorrow comes, with no dark lies

No mere illusion could intrude my wide eyes

My hearts triumph ceases to thrive

Illuded so I would forget these goodbyes

fact or fiction
