Making Changes
Soml changes make a BIG difference

We watch the world go by, use our plastics, use our cars but no one thinks about the impact these small daily actions have on our planet.
Sorry mother nature
For what we have done
We are making changes.
To fix what we’ve begun.
Recycling carboard
Cartons and tins
Rinsing them out
In the recycle bun
Don’t forget food waste.
It is the same.
Separated correctly.
And compost is made.
Ridding my cupboards
Of single use plastics
Changing my actions
Feels so fantastic.
I use SMOL capsules.
To do my laundry
Plastic free and recyclable
Free from animal cruelty
My loo roll in bulk
With no plastic wrapping
In a cardboard box
Which is great for stacking?
Teaching my children
To do the same
Education is vital.
If we all want to change
Learning what’s happening.
And affecting our world
So, we can all be proactive.
Be good boys and girls.
We must teach them to love.
The place where they live.
To mother nature
Respect them must give.
If we want to survive
And watch our world heal.
Sustainable living
Is the appeal.
I use solar panels.
To power my home
Natural energy
In my house it comes
Rainwater harvested.
For my wastewater
Not only sustainable
But my bill more than quartered.
So many changes
That we can all make
To help live better.
And in a cleaner space
Although they are little
It is just the start.
To a better way of living
To restore the worlds heart.
The world as we know it is being destroyed by us and what do we do about it? A lot of people choose to ignore and hope for the best. I think that people believe that if they ignore the matter it isn’t happening (like a lot of things in this world) out of sight and out of mind and we will deal with the consequences later. But what if later never comes because it is too late?
Along with little changes that we can all make to our daily living to make it ore sustainable a major change that we could do is to educate. Educate the masses and more importantly educate the next generations. Educate them about what is happening to our planet, what we are doing to our planet and how we can change and what we need to do to save the planet. If we educate them know it will eventually become the way of life. I encourage to recycle and reuse. I have a box full of old recyclable items such as cartons, loo roll tubes etc to use for arts and craft projects. My daughter has made things for her room our of old cans and boxes which I think is amazing. I also like to educate them about what is happening in the world and why to enable them to have a better understanding and to instil in them the importance change has on the world.
I also buy local. My fruit, veg and eggs are locally sourced and package free. There are so many benefits to this. You are helping the planet, helping local farmers and the food is tastes much better and I also find it is better value for money. I was pleasantly surprised when my eggs were delivered when they asked if I had the egg carton as they reuse which I thought was brilliant.
We can all make changes to save the world. We may think the little things like replacing a wrapped broccoli for an unwrapped one won’t make a difference, but it does and if we all were to make these changes what a difference the world would be and what a better place we would live in. We wouldn’t it in our back gardens so why do it to the world?
Make a difference.
