Making a Difference

People Being Unique

By Dan R FowlerPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Making a Difference

Many people are good at many things,

Singing, sports, or painting a dream.

Some are runners, climbers, and swimmers,

While others are walkers or simply beginners.

Some folks are talkers, narrators of stories,

Others are listeners less encumbered with worries.

There are those who preach their interpretations,

While others stand to mock or issue rejections.

On occasion, there is one who is a challenger,

Of life or thought and questioning all things clever.

There are minds that think little or nothing at all,

From sunrise to sunset, be they short or tall.

There could be another who stands all alone it's said,

Who watches and listens and experiences no dread.

For to be human and free from making discrimination,

Will accept people for who they are without classification.

It’s hard for some when judging others to let things go,

When confronted with differences to which they say no.

For those who won't conform to the status quo,

Live lives filled with happiness away from all the woe.

So whatever type of person you feel you’ve become,

Rejoice in the fact that you can enjoy your freedom.

Disregard those who chant and rant and rave,

For they are bound by their own blindness becoming slaves.

From street corners to offices high and all in between,

There are millions of people in places I haven’t seen.

But those people with uniqueness making a difference,

Are far better than those I keep at a great distance.
