Shouting

With failure comes new levels of understanding,

As to what should be done rather than just settling.

If the life that I now live is to be only a do as I say,

Then stop the train, open the doors, it is here that I’ll stay.

If life is to be simply monkey see, monkey do,

Then one thing is true, I don’t want to be like you.

For not to be who I am would void my life’s contract,

Of being all that I can be and make the biggest impact.

Isn’t that what we’re supposed to aim for, shoot for the stars,

Regardless of the trenches, the ditches, or the battle scars.

So with assured confidence that what I’m doing is on spot,

I’ll shout and yell and defy the odds with all that I’ve brought.

For to sit in a corner and do as one’s told,

Makes people invisible, bitter, grumpy, and old.

If that’s what you expect of me, then it’ll never happen,

Because I was born to be loud, bold, and full of passion.
