Love You Dad Forever
"From Afar: A Daughter's Reflection on Her Father's COVID Struggle"

My heart aches with a heavy weight,
As I reflect on my father's fate,
How he struggled from COVID's grasp,
Until his last breath, it did clasp.
Living in a foreign land,
I could only offer a prayerful hand,
With no power to comfort or heal,
My heart ached, unable to feel.
But distance couldn't dampen my love,
Nor could it hinder my tears that drove,
From across the miles, I sent my love,
Wishing and praying for grace from above.
Each day was filled with fear and dread,
As I wondered if my father would make it ahead,
My heart was shattered, my soul torn,
As I waited, praying for his life to be reborn.
But despite my efforts and my plea,
My father lost his battle with COVID, you see,
His last breath taken, his journey done,
He left us to grieve, each and every one.
And though I may not have been there,
To hold his hand or stroke his hair,
My heart beats with love that will never die,
As I remember my father and let out a sigh.
Rest in peace, my dear father,
May your journey be blessed with eternal wonder,
Though you're gone, your love will forever last,
In my heart, a memory that will always be cast.
