Love Over Distance

A Father's Day Poem

I never doubted that you loved me,

Even when you were far away.

I have always felt supported,

In my career or at play.

When I told you of my far-flung dreams

You offered advice on how to reach them

I never feared coming out to you

(I didn't know how rare that was, then)

Others speak of absent fathers,

Of ones who didn't care.

Of Dads who never knew them,

And I'm so grateful to have you here.

There was a Father's Day challenge last year, but not this year. I wrote a poem anyway.
