Love and Lies

a nonet

“It’s over now.” Your words are acid.

“But why?” My mind spins like a top.

“We’ve grown apart,” is your lie.

Tears flow, but only mine.

Hollow words echo

that I can’t hear.

“I’m sorry.”

But you’re

not.
