Tired of the Lies

a free verse poem

I’m tired of the lies,

false promises,

delusions, allusions,

and misrepresentations.

.

Saying one thing

and doing another.

No apologies, or

signs of regret.

.

Talking out of

both sides

of the mouth,

spouting nonsense.

.

Always more of the same;

mental gymnastics,

and silly word games.

I’m tired of the lies…

.

I keep telling myself.

Why do we stay and still listen . They say because we feel we invested time but it was not worth investing time to liers

As for me, I' tired of those who believe the lies.

Truth is as rare as rubies in contemporary discourse; your poem captures the resulting outrage elegantly.
