Lottoland
Challenge #7 The Dream State
Stampeding thoughts
running
coursing the canyons
of my mind.
Visuals seen.
Objects come and go
like Alice falling
down a rabbit hole.
Lotto tickets
spewing out
of a machine.
At the touch of
a large red button
the lotto tickets drop
one after the other
after the other.
Numbers are displayed.
Calculations are shown.
What do the numbers
represent
Money?
Lotto tickets?
Winnings?
Yet, No monetary
transactions
are made.
Seeing without glasses,
Hearing isn't a problem.
Stuck in
Lottoland!
Half asleep
half awake
nature calls.
Leaving the comfort
of a cool soft bed,
While Lottoland
lingers.
Step into
the shower
the dream visuals
dissipates.
Cascading cold water,
awakens the
conscience.

The depth of a relationship isn’t determined by how many times we say, “Let’s meet up another day.” Those seemingly warm words often go unfulfilled. Instead, it is the friend you don’t contact often, or even someone who lives far away, who quietly drives over the moment you say, “I’m a little tired lately.”

Babs, this is magical! “Stampeding thoughts running coursing the canyons of my mind. Visuals seen. Objects come and go like Alice falling down a rabbit hole.” I felt myself descending down that hole to dreamland just reading this. “Step into the shower the dream visuals dissipates. Cascading cold water, awakens the conscience.” Waking up from dreams can be so jarring, but I loved how you ended this with a soft transition into reality. Congrats on your Top Story. 🥂
