My praise and words ring true.

Would be lost without you

By my side constantly.

No animosity!

📱

Connection to people

with text elation

family or keypal

that's communication.

📱

Organization help!

Appointment calendar!

Or, Google word kelp.

When to buy lavender?

📱

Taking a special pic.

Yes, indispensable!

Share a family flick.

Not reprehensible!

📱

Travel companion must!

Always there just in case

An emergency trust.

Indeed, you are my ace.

📱

Cell phone we are a team.

Writing a story and beam.

Writer's notes: This is written for Vocal's prompt.

"The Prompt

Write an ode to an ordinary object.

At the beginning of the year, we hosted the Uncommon Poetry Challenge. Now, it's time to embrace the opposite: the ordinary. This poetry challenge prompts you to pause and appreciate the unsung heroes that add value to your daily life — to find beauty in the most mundane. From the reliable old toaster that browns your bread each morning, to the humble pen that captures your thoughts, or the warped key that opens your home - we invite you to bring these everyday items to life in verse.

An ode is a form of lyrical poetry traditionally used for expressions of praise. It's about shifting perspectives, unearthing depth and complexity in the simplest of things. Entries can range from humorous to sentimental, abstract to concrete, as long as they embody the spirit of celebrating the ordinary.

Thank you for reading! You are always appreciated!

Very nicely done! I remember being a lad and not having a phone, what a strange and alien time that was! With no way to communicate with my friends except seeing them at school, actually calling the house phone to see if they wanted to (and were allowed) to play. For travel, and most other things, these little devices are certainly a must have! I remember when I went to Korea, I spent days researching wifi eggs so that I could stay connected and have maps while abroad. Amusingly, while eating lunch in front of the National Museum in Seoul, friends called me during a night on the town to tell me they missed me and ask how my vacation was going. A feat impossible without our magical devices! That being said, I still love sending postcards

  • Very well done☺️Congrats on your top story Babs💓

Well done Babs. It's funny how important the cell phone has become to who we are. It has become an integral part of us, almost like another appendage.
