Lost in the Dark

A Poem of Loneliness and Despair

By ik dogenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I am lost in the dark, with no light to guide me,

My heart aches with pain, it's all that I can see.

The shadows surround me, and the silence is deafening,

As I wander through this darkness, my heart is questioning.

Where do I go from here, in this endless night?

My soul is weary, my spirit losing its fight.

I search for a glimmer of hope, but it's nowhere in sight,

And in this loneliness, my heart takes flight.

I long for a companion, someone to hold me tight,

To chase away the demons, to make everything right.

But in this darkness, I am alone, with no one in sight,

And the pain in my heart, is all that I can write.

So I wander on, lost in the dark,

With no destination, no goal, no mark.

My soul is weary, my heart torn apart,

And in this endless darkness, I am just a broken heart.

Lost in the dark, with no light to guide me,

My heart aches with pain, it's all that I can see.

But I know I must keep going, I must find my way,

For even in this darkness, there's a brighter day.
