Lonely in the world
This poem describes the feeling of loneliness and the after effect disorders associated with it.
Alone in the crowd, I stand
With no one to hold my hand,
Friends are but a distant dream,
And loneliness is all I glean.
Depression, stress, and tension,
Are my constant companions,
Anxiety and insomnia too,
Make my days a never-ending blue.
I try to reach out and connect,
But my efforts are all neglect,
No one seems to understand,
The weight of my lonely hand.
I try to keep my head held high,
But the weight of it makes me sigh,
I long for a friend to confide in,
But all I have is a heart full of din.
So I'll keep on walking this path alone,
With my head held high, and my heart full grown,
For I know that I am strong,
And one day, my friends will come along.
