Lonely dance

A vampire dances in the light only once

it’s obscene, to delve into the details that dip

Like a pool, a well that dares to find the gory stuff that brings out one’s tenacity to survive

Even if the only way you can find it

Is to dip fingers in black water

And rip out clogged intestines

That no longer serve a purpose.

She’s a big girl, a crumbling campfire surrounded by star light and rippling sun,

A big tough girl that is actually a scared frightened child,

A vampire shrouded in death’s laughter,

An echo that is felt like a spit in your face.

She performs a dance like the dying swan, eternal in love and grief

A vampire only dances in the light once,

In her darling angel’s arms, she feels complete.
