Loch Ness Monsieur
A Bit Of Silliness

Introduction
This is just a bit of silliness that came into my head. I have done other poems about Nessie like this one:
I intended this to be a single quatrain but it grew into a sonnet.
The music is "Water Beastie" by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

Nessie Went To Paris For A Holiday
And Everyone Said That Nessie Was Insane
But To The Left Bank Nessie Went Anyway
Drinking Coffee, Taking Pictures By The Seine

It Ws A Bright Parisian Summer Day
Everyone Noticed Nessie just Sitting There
Looking At The Eiffel Tower Across The Way
Pouring French Coffee From His Cafetiere

Nessie Chats With The Artists Along The Bank
Sharing Refreshments Along The River Seine
Nessie Sees The Red Windmill, And Takes Absinthe
We All Know That Is The Way To Go Insane

You Know This Is Truly The Loch Ness Monsieur

Fun stuff! Well done Mike! βΊοΈπ«ΆπΎπΈ
I recommended this lovely piece for the Raise Your Voice thing. Letβs see if they actually read it. I am not afraid of saying I am tired of all the sadness and drama consistently featured and very rarely I see something that is this kind of creative and original fun, with emphasis on βcreative.β

A whimsical wonder! Fantastic work, Mike ..reminds me of Warren Zevon's werewolf drinking a pina colada.
Nessy in Paris drinking French coffee from his cafetière is such an adorable idea. You are mastering NightCafe! I love the image.
If Santa can go to Martinique why can't Nessie go to Paris. What an imaginative poem.
Lol, this was so silly, I loved it!
lol silly and cheered me up today
Great way to start a Saturday morning , with a laugh. The picture is perfect
Aww, Nessie! I love how she came over for the holiday. Wonder if she swam in the Seine? Hope not, it's nothing near as clear or beautiful as her Loch back at home. :)
This was a fun little poem. If I were Nessie I'd go to Paris aussi! This song was so fun too. I've never heard it and I'm not familiar with Alex Harvey. Thank you again for introducing me to another fabulous artist. Funny story, I live near Bear Lake on the border of Utah and Idaho. There's rumors Nessie actually comes here for vacations. They say the lake is so deep in parts there is no bottom. Legend has it there is an underground tunnel between Bear Lake and Loch Ness for the monster to swim back and forth. I've met die-hard believers who insist that explains why it's so hard to get proof. Nessie just isn't always in the right Lake. Perhaps there's also a tunnel to the Seine.
