Living with Hyperhidrosis

I manage with cotton socks and gloves

Hyperhidrosis Palms @Seema

I have hyperhidrosis,

a condition in which,

my palms and soles,

sweat excessively.

I’ve been suffering,

from it since birth.

As a child in India,

I wore rubber slippers,

walked on cement floors.

It was rough sometimes,

but the days went by.

I never wear leathers,

it will fray by acidic sweat,

I’d get allergic reactions too.

Now I live in the USA,

the floors are carpeted.

If I walk barefoot,

with wet feet,

the carpet will grow mold,

and those carpet chemicals

can irritate my soles.

Mold and itching,

both can provoke,

our immune systems.

So what do I do?

I’ve found a simple solution:

I wear absorbent cotton socks,

on felt slippers,

and works wonderfully.

When socks get wet,

I change into a new pair,

it's affordable and safe.

A small effort,

and abig problem solved.

As I type this story,

I'm wearing cotton gloves.

I wear them,

while driving the car too.

Friends,

we don’t get to choose,

our endless problems,

but managing them,

is our responsibility.

When we handle them

using our wisdom,

self-respect follows,

despite the struggles.

My older brother has it so bad on his feet, and he never took care of it properly when we were younger. He'd take his shoes off, and we could smell his feet throughout the house; the bacteria was so bad. I'm so glad I no longer live in the same house as him, but I grew up and left.

Yes, I have heard of this disease for I was a practical nurse 16 years. Good that you kind of solved your issue. Good job on the sharing.
