Living True to Self

Healthy relations don't coerce

Giving the reins of life

to other humans—

in embracing deep sadness.

It's not easy, to deviate

I get it.

We are social beings.

We want love and company,

strong connections,

meaningful relations.

And those with higher value,

in the relationship

often try to manipulate us—

yes, even family.

But when we follow them,

blindly, againt choice,

our true self,

remains unfulfilled.

So, what do you do?

Set boundaries,

cultivate self-awareness,

Agree with them,

if conscience approves.

Say vehement 'No',

if they try to coerce you.

It's not really,

that difficult.

Let the relation shatter,

if they are attacking,

your uniqueness or goals.

Let it be.

No guilt over it.

Healthy relations,

don't force to obey.

Your mortal journey,

you get to decide,

which spectacles,

you want to see.

Good job, but you got to do what you got to do to be true to yourself and even finding what you need to do to be true to yourself is hard to do and even understand at times.
