Learning Struggles as a Mother

Kids interrupt my study sessions, and I continue

I had developed a mindset,

early on,

of learning with zeal,

that I can study,

long 14 hours a day.

I knew well that,

my father was a teacher,

limited salary,

more responsibility,

no inheritance for me,

I have no cushion,

to fall back on.

If I want to live,

with grace, dignity

and not be exploited,

I must stay sharp,

bright, academically,

So I loved learning.

My ikigai is,

raising awareness,

on issues of the world.

It needs broad knowledge,

so, I can join the dots.

I study, with passion

My spouse, I am lucky,

cooperated with my goals.

But the small kids,

don't yet understand,

the gravity of my motivation.

I feel frustrated.

Every day,

I beg for peaceful time,

seem like a yelling dragon.

We reach compromises,

I write with noisy cartoon,

blaring in the background.

My misophonic self hates it,

but something is better,

than nothing, I reckon.

I continue, polishing skills,

don’t we admire resilience?
