Little Resistance, With Better Intentions

Black And White

Top Story - February 2025

Back in the saddle

Back in the battle

Back to the beginning

With backs against the wall

Back in black Wishes

Back handed, bad business

Backed into a corner

With no one to call

Sure, I’ve got your back

Help you cover your tracks

Keep it all in this pack

Hanging here on my shoulder

Wanna see what I’m made of

Rumors fit like a kid glove

Gonna turn down the lights

While my cigarette smolders

Digging into the darkness

Digging graves, taking chances

Digging out from bad choices

Too many to mention

Smoothly offering forgiveness

Calling out shady business

Calling the shots or the cops

Whichever serves my intentions

Don’t take your eyes off of me

And don’t you dare start a fight

I’m the shadows still lurking

When you turn out the lights

Feels like a whispered warning and a battle cry all at once.

Your poem is powerful and evocative, capturing the essence of resilience and determination. The imagery of shadows and the themes of facing challenges head-on are strikingly portrayed.

I thought my original comment was posted but it must’ve not been put through! I’m sorry I really feel all the comments here are true,I hear it as a rap song but also jazzy, somehow lol but it’s just a banger!

This flows so smoothly, like a smoky, jazz-club kind of rhythm. Feels like stepping into a crime thriller—dark, mysterious, and so effortlessly cool. Loved it

  • I'm digging the artwork.

This did read very smoothly as if it were a rap song with the rhymes as well. Good job.
