Little Boy

The musings of a lost child

On Gaza's streets, I wander lost

Amidst the rubble and the dust,

A child adrift in a sea of sorrow,

Seeking solace in the midst of chaos,

Yearning for a glimpse of hope.

Lost in the labyrinth of despair,

Every turn leading to uncertainty,

Every path fraught with danger,

Leaving me feeling smaller than I am.

All alone and surrounded by the echoes,

Of a place, my home, torn apart,

Where the cries of the wounded,

Blends with the wails of mourning,

A symphony of suffering that never ends.

An endless cycle of Die. Repeat. Die

Violence and destruction everywhere

Innocence is the ultimate casualty,

Childhood, like mine, is a luxury,

In this shattered city.

A place of contradictions,

Where beauty and tragedy collide, daily

Amidst the chaos and despair,

Resilience that refuses to be broken,

A flicker of light in the darkness,

Me!

It's heartbreaking to know that all this sadness is there in the world. Thank you for writing this poem.
