Tomfoolery

There once was a dog named Scot

Who chased sticks all over the lot.

He'd fetch them and bring,

Then shake off the sting,

And everyone would say, "What a good dog!"

*

There once was a cat named Susan.

Who loved to sit in the sun.

She'd purr, and she'd nap,

And when she'd wake up,

She'd stretch and then chase a ball of yarn.

*

There once was a pirate named Pete.

Who had a parrot named Petey

The parrot said, "Arrr!"

And Pete said, "That's quite the call!"

And then they both ate some crackers.

*

There once was a mom named Lou.

Whose kid was a handful through and through,

She cooked, and she cleaned,

And she never complained,

But she wished she could just run away, too.

I'm starting to sense a theme That goes against the rhyme scheme If there's five lines The limerick's fine They're all still very keen

  • I mean I gotta agree with Lou. I'd feel like running away too if I had a kid, lol! Loved your limericks!
