like bouquets of flowers
a love poem

You came and kissed me like
the first rain does
the desert.
I was .:tigerlily ember:.—
fierce and bright (in other)
lives—now earthen
ashes,
stripped of growth.
You fought like Mars
avenging Venus:
built my wings (so I’d)
become a phoenix—
bloom like
bouquets of {{flowers in}}
the February snow.

This is stunning—going from a scorched tigerlily to ashes to a reborn phoenix? Absolutely gorgeous.
