late-winter's glow

a love poem

It’s too cold

for turtle doves to

nest the hedgerows, but

wild spirit—summoned by

the Snow Moon’s pull,

knows no limits—risks

his life to ground a moose bull,

all to offer his

fierce queen:

the she-wolf—

labored, still, from birthing pups…

both drunk and grateful in

late-winter's glow

of love

love poems

I saw all these pretty titles and images being used and saw it was you. That makes sense. Gorgeous titles and images.

This is such a good poem! I really love the way “nest” is used almost as a verb!

I hoped he had his buddies help him take on that moose bull, and that the bull moose was alone, old, and sick. Wolves help keep prey populations healthy. I'm glad that both parent wolves are still madly, drunk in love.

  • Nature is the best example of sacrificial love

I love how you captured that wild, untamed vibe! The moose bull’s sacrifice and the she-wolf’s glow bring such a raw, beautiful energy to the poem. It feels like nature's version of a love story, fierce and soft all at once. Super impactful!✨

In all the cold surroundings, there is the warm glow of love. Nicely done
