Light and Shadows
For the Sonnet of Shadows Challenge

Glittering wings fly high into the sky
Fairies dance with birds, flittering and flirting
There’s no time to be shy, they need to fly
Oh! There’s a dive, solid wings just skirting
*
Cold and dark, mists of unknown, curl around
Touching, holding, grabbing, they want to befriend
By the decisions they made, they are bound
They tempt you, tease you, what do they intend?
*
Twitters and giggles and sounds of great glee
Contrast with the howls and crashing yells
The fairies fly up to the highest tree
While the demons clang the orchestral bells
*
Despite all their differences, they share the space
Trying their best to corrupt the human race

Reb, your poem elegantly explores the tension between innocence and corruption. The rhythm carries a classic tone, giving the fantasy imagery a timeless moral undertone.
I love the imagery here. Good luck in the Challenge!
