Life's Dualities

Where is that constant line?

By Maryam BatoolPublished about a year ago 1 min read

When the velocity is constant; acceleration becomes ZERO!

Can't a movie have 'No-Villain', but a sole HERO?

Variable is my life; Sometimes it dims, at others, it Shines

Why can't we just smile? Where is that constant line?

When there's LOVE, It seems there's HATE too

When I wrote 'FRIENDS', it said, "Write ENEMY too"

Why are there so many antonyms? Can anyone define?

My life was happy too; Where is that constant line?

What starts with "Hi", doesn't even end with a "Bye"

Who introduced "Laugh"— someone already taught us "Cry"?

Truths and Lies are not brothers; I decline!

I hate all negative words, Where is that constant line?

Life's smooth path; The trail of infinite smiles

Can't keep itself clean; not for a couple of miles

I hate this acceleration; I need happiness to align

Where did that joy go? Where is that constant line?

.

.

.

Author's note:

My physics is really bad, but that's the only thing I understand. "Nothing is CONSTANT whether it's a motion or a situation; the rule is the same"

I hope everything gets better for everyone. Life often brings moments beyond our control. You try so hard to mend what's broken, but the tools aren’t in your hands. So, I wish for everyone to keep smiling and cherish every moment—whether it’s constant or variable.

Thank you for reading <3

The search for that "constant line" of happiness amidst ups and downs is so relatable. Your imagery and metaphors create a profound reflection on the human experience.

  • What starts with "Hi", doesn't even end with a "Bye" Gosh that line hit me like a ton of bricks! Loved your poem so much. I hope things get better for you as well. May only good things come your way ✨️❤️

See now this is the reason why I am so glad we found each other here on Vocal, because where would I read thought provoking pieces like these? I am sure there’s many more that I haven’t found yet, many besides komals and yours. But you bring your own unique voice to it, and that is what I enjoy very much. There is another person behind it, someone real, someone who understands, another spirit besides my own. Physics, although you said you are not very good at it. It made you a master at words relating to duality. Not only did you teach us some psychics, but you also uplifted us. You reassured us, you held our hands and told us in several ways that we are not alone, that it’s not wrong to ask for this constant line. I am blown away and when I am, there’s almost no end to my typing, but for the sake of commenting. THANK YOU!!! I would be that one annoying person wearing a shirt with these words on it, though that won’t honour your words enough 🤗👏🏽👌🏽

A beautifully written poem that is so very deep and relatable!💕 Your note at the end seemed so sweet and straight from the heart, I wish the same to you too!💕✨ Your poem made me think of the proverb: "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" A beautiful message you conveyed, always stay positive and cherish the good in life💗😊

Wow! This is such a vibe—mixing physics with life struggles? Genius move! The whole “constant line” thing hits hard—it’s like the ultimate wish for balance, right? And the author’s note? So heartfelt! The idea that nothing stays the same but still hoping everyone finds moments of joy? That's the kind of energy we all need. ✨ Loved this one—super relatable and uplifting!💖🤗 Btw Physics is my love literally 😍
