Whether well-known or hardly worth a mention,
We all crave some type of attention.
Whether rich or poor any frame or stature,
We are all striving for a future.
Life is not about weak or strong,
But rather finding where we belong.
Be it leader, follower or student,
We are all desperate to find solutions.
If we want to bring on war, or better this world,
Adversity and hope unite us as one.
We all bleed the same colour,
We all pride in our achievements.
We all want the best for ourselves,
We are all of life’s creation.
We are fighting for change,
We want the light to conquer the dark.
We are in this world for a bit of fun,
We work hard for our keep but barely get by,
We choose the easy way out and have not yet left a mark,
We are everything said and done.
The color of blood is the same in everyone,
We may push people away,
Listen to everything that people say.
Yet all of us want some love.
Our choices don’t make us who we are,
Yet they define the outcome.
We are all of life’s creation.
Some of us may be yearning for a name,
Others hiding from our shame.
We don’t have to put others down to feel better,
Sometimes we just got to look at the man in the mirror.
Some of us may die without ever having lived,
Others may work it out and thrive.
Some of us will just barely survive.
We don’t need to believe in a deity,
In the end there is just one reality.
To do our best in this world.
We all fight our own hidden battles.
We all have red blood running through our veins,
We all have to understand love will always reign.
None of us can turn back the clock to fix our mistakes,
In the end the best for ourselves is all we can make.
We are all of life’s creation.

''We all have red blood running through our veins.'' This is very poetical, but grounded. Like breathing that search piece. Very nice work. :)
You & I share many of the same beliefs, it seems to me. We have similar ways of viewing the world, and the meaning of life. We both know that to be human is to have an overwhelming desire to learn, to grow, to expand, to better ourselves. I love both the sentiment & your way of expressing it. ⚡💙⚡
so relatable and so well written!
I enjoyed reading this thank you ♦️♦️♦️♦️
This is a wonderfully well-written piece. We all bleed the same colour - great line! My midwife mother used to say if you cut a person in half, whatever colour the outside, the inside is just the same.
Hi Sid There is much depth to this. So well crafted for within your gentle cadence I find many representations of the human condition. Though they may be different, all are united ‘We all bleed the same colour.’ I felt deep emotion reading your poem. Thank you Pauline 🌸
Nice and simple... thank you and check out stories from an African mind.

''Others may work it out and thrive. Some of us will just barely survive.'' beautiful yet cruel reality vibes, loved it!
Beautifully said. There is a lot of self reflection these days. So much has changed.
