Letters I Never Sent

I wrote you letters,

on quiet nights,

when the world was asleep

and my heart couldn’t be.

I never posted them,

never put your name on the

envelope —

but every word was meant for you.

I told you how much I missed your laugh,

how your silence still echoed in

my chest,

how I smiled at the memories

and cried at the same ones.

I wrote about the day we first met

how time slowed down,

how my world suddenly felt warm.

I wrote about the day you left —

how it rained inside me,

even when the sun was shining.

In those letters,

I said everything I never had the

courage to say out loud.

Like how I still look for you in

songs,

in dreams,

in strangers passing by.

I wanted to ask,

"Did you ever think of me too?"

But I never did.

So the letters stayed hidden —

in notebooks,

in my phone drafts,

in the corners of my heart.

You’ll never read them.

But I needed to write them —

for me,

for closure,

for love that still lingers… quietly.

Because not every story is told.

Not every love is returned.

And not every letter needs to be sent.
