In Our Bubble

A poem

Love’s innocence, I would like to preserve it

In our bubble, I am safe and free

We have our flaws, and we have our dreams

I am having a sweet lime soda

And looking out of the car window

There is no rain today

But I wish there was

You are far away from me and driving

The honking noises and the usual traffic

If I end up by your side

When I’m right next to you

It would feel like a dream

You play songs, and I sip soda

I feel the music reach my heart

My heartstrings, you know them well

How do you?

Where did you come from?

What are your intentions with my heart?

I am so, so scared

You are singing

I’m not as carefree as you

But sometimes I wish I were

Where will the road take us?

I wish to open up

I try to sing, and I only hum

I try to break free

But it’s not easy, not at all

Because I’m used to hiding

All I’ve ever known is my flaws

You wait patiently

For me to meet you in between

I hold your hand

I am scared, and I am trying

To be a little more of you

And a little less of me.
