Lemon circus

I’m all twisted

I’m all twisted

Like a pinch of lemon to your tongue

I felt your balm

I felt your deep

I felt your deep words

I sensed your order

Like a sequence of days matched up

Overlapped by long, languid nights

But the memory is blurred

And it’s a citrus green twist,

And I’m all twisted up

Like a circus act

That didn’t quite work out

Didn’t quite match up to

Your plan

I was thinking

I’d be your soft shy little wolf,

Catching your looks like a flaming pin

And seeping in your lemon balm secrets,

And you’d be my tall safe house,

Smirking

Yet falling beside me

When I fall.

In another world, another time

Another universe

Another place

I told you once,

And now I realize the words are twisted

Like lemon balm

And now it’s mixed into my lovely circus vision

It has become a crazy, passionate

Fervent,

Twisted

Lemon balm set of

Prose.

I hide underneath my heart

It is my only mask

I am just a shy little wolf

And I know what I am.
