Left in silence

Silence is a two edged sword

By Em EverheartPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Soft whimpers slip past my lips as I lie in bed,

I always sought sweet solitude without you.

Lost in myself, I longed for your small noises to vanish.

Ever the darling you were, you made my desires come true.

Never did you reveal how the quiet made the voices scream.

Cradling the pillow you once held, I listen for your heartbeat

Eternal sleep you chose, leaving an emptiness behind.

Cradling the pillow you once held, I listen for your heartbeat- what a poetic line.
