Nothing to do but chill

Lazy days of summer 2025

Lazy days, and I don’t mind,

feet on the step, leaving clocks behind,

ice in the glass, shade on my face,

the world spins slow in this sleepy place.

Flowers bloom, their happy scent divine,

my darling summer days, you’re mine.

To sit, to laze, to dance, to sing,

to watch the birds and beauty they bring.

Washing lines sway, bees hum along,

half-finished thoughts in a half-sung song,

the heat’s too soft to stir up care,

and I’m too still to go anywhere.

Friends drop by, or maybe not,

I’ve got myself, and that’s a lot.

The sun rolls on, the hours stay kind,

I’ll catch tomorrow, when I’ve a mind

'Friends drop by, or maybe not, I’ve got myself, and that’s a lot.' We need this attitude.
