Self-Love’s Embrace

I found the gray area

Neither black nor white

A golden opportunity

For me to shine bright

Though I am a shrinking violet

Yellow-bellied too

Sometimes green with envy

Sometimes feeling blue

I am a black sheep

Caught red in the face

Caught red-handed

In self-love’s embrace

So roll out the red carpet

For I have arrived

The grass is greener

Here on my side

Call me off-color

But color me surprised

How boring it is to color

Inside the lines

In my true color

I see the green light

And with flying color

I give color to life
