I know a you
that no-one knows
but me.
While it's true
that we are all
different versions
to different people,
I know a unique you
Fully seen
Understood
Secure
A safe place
An anchor
Set apart
Servant's heart
Abundant faith
Water flows freely
in the dry places
A magnificence in
The mundane
A deep heart
Authentic
A calm in the
tempest
bearing abundant
Fruit
Purpose
Infinite lumens
Brilliance
Humility defined
Giving
Intentional
Aligned
God puts us
where we are
meant to be
Our hands and feet
His own
Spirit
Kindred
Cut from the
Same cloth.
A hem.
Amen.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
I Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV

Cut from the same cloth is something that more people need to understand. Loved your poem!
This was not just a portrayal of intimacy, but also the knowledge of what makes it healthy, what keeps it strong and consistent. I especially like the quoting of the scripture. This was a solid piece, beautiful in every way. Oh and that ending is simply breathtaking. ‘A hem, Amen’ 👌🏽
Beautifully written. Thank you.
Beautiful note with some deep lines. Amazing stuff @Colleen Walters
This is some deep stuff. You talk about knowing a unique version of someone. I've had that feeling too, like there's a side of a person that only I get to see. It makes that connection special. And the part about being in the right place, being God's hands and feet, that's powerful. How do you think we can better embrace that role in our daily lives? It's something I've been thinking about lately.
