July’s Gentle Heart
A happy time in the sun having fun

July’s Gentle Heart
Sunlight spills through open doors
laughter hums along the floors
hands in hands, no need to roam
July has made our hearts a home
Soft warm skies and dancing leaves
quiet joy on summer eves
the world feels kind, the hours slow down
with love like this, we wear no frown
Children play where daisies grow
streams of laughter gently flow
and in your smile, so pure, so wide
I find my peace, my summer pride
No gold could buy these days so sweet
just simple love where warm hearts meet
and in July, we hold what’s true
the happy world of me and you
On the beach with Grandad we run and play,
Thankful for this summers day.

This captures July perfectly
Good job and I could feel the fun in the poem. My grandad let me help feed his hunting dogs and at one time even his pigeons when I was a very young kid then he got too sick and mainly stayed in his house, but I do remember his smell of cigar and whiskey.
AW, what a beautiful poem. I love it. Never had a grandfather I could run and play with. Pop was too busy running his store (but then, he rarely spoke to my mom who didn't marry an Irish boy) and my dad's father died years before I was born. Yet, I can still dream of the way I would have like things to be. GREAT poem. Makes me want to crawl into my fantasy world for just a minute longer.
