Finding hope in the depths
In the dim of twilight he stands solitary,
A figure cast by the fading light, weary.
Trapped within his own shadow's embrace,
He feels the weight, an unyielding grace.
His steps falter, whispers of his past unfold,
A tale untold, in shadows, it's foretold.
Caught in the grip of his own making,
He searches for a dawn, a new awakening.
With every passing moment, darkness seeps,
Engulfing him in secrets it keeps.
Yet, amidst the gloom, a spark ignites,
A flicker of hope in the darkest of nights.
Through the labyrinth of shadows, he wanders,
Seeking the light, amidst the somber squanders.
Emerging from the depths, he finds his way,
Breaking free from the shadows' sway.
In the warmth of dawn's embrace, he's reborn,
No longer lost, no longer torn.
For within himself, he finds the strength,
To embrace the light, and go to any length.

"Death cannot stop true love, only delay it." – Wesley in The Princess Bride. I decided to come back to Vocal on a very cold and dark night at the end of December. I had been, and still am, convalescing from a horrible staph infection that had gone misdiagnosed for months. This, paired with the increasing challenges of being healthy, making the best choices for my co-parented child, being a wife, and being a director at a new job, was a lot to manage.
