Dark Riddles

By Rowan Finley Published 6 years ago 1 min read

Oh leather bound book

Dare thee take a look?

What secrets do thy hold?

Life’s stories are told

Dark riddles do unfold

Thoughts give rise and are sold

Made in Tuscany

Of the highest quality

Unique in beauty

Unsure in duty

Beloved leathery smell so sweet

Lifted spirit swells, blessed treat

Pages turn and turn

Hearts mysteries yearn

It is found that the heart is gold

Until more is learned and life does scold

Published or not

Buried in plot

Reflect on times gone

Temperament so withdrawn

So forget me not

I shan’t have that lot

Moth eaten or dust

Words full, this I trust

vintage
