It’s The Little Things That Matter
So tiny you can’t see

It’s The Little Things That Matter
It’s the little things that matter
so tiny you can’t see
through your selfish murky feelings
you always throw at me
“I’m just teasing” you say callously
after you’ve let your feelings known
Hiding behind a false bravado
of a smile carved from stone
Always waiting for the kill
as you search my caring face
with a hint of satisfaction
I can almost taste
So I have learned just to smile
and tell myself it’s cool
That you treat me so indifferently
I’m just your sidekick fool
Perhaps someday you’ll miss me
but again probably not
That would require you to think
and give me a caring thought
