Intimacy Ratios
And math that couldn’t be taught

Beyond any doubt
you will not break my heart
but instead
reduce it to microscopic shreds past recognition
Quivering cardiac pulses
that feel eternity loss
from love-scraped cords not easily relinquished
A future that looms inevitable
does nothing to dissuade
and mathematics
the basis of scientific principle
lies comatose before me
as a day
a week
a decade
without hesitation
I'd surrender
to possess this ratio of unequal terms
There are unions beyond yearning
and such irrepressible force of bond
where heavens kneel
in supplication
and weep
for redress of torn spheres
and seclusion
for timeless ties divine born

Phenomenal writing Dani!
Heartwrenching!!! Well done, SSS!!!
Like it's been put into a really powerful blender, and just as messy!
I often felt how you describe it, after a heartbreak - like my heart wasn't actually broken but shrunk into microscopic size I can't even recognize anymore. You phrased this poem so beautifully ❤️
From the title to the final line this is just stunning! You've got the minutia and the cosmic well in hand! Beautiful work!
I love it, Dani. Tugs at the soul. ⚡💙⚡
Excellent structure with lots to ponder Dani. Lovingly done! 😊 👏
