Intentionality Beyond Freedom

A Poem

Sirens are abolished

Freedom is ours to claim

How will you connect

With the land?

With your ancestors?

With your higher power?

Freedom smells like the ocean breeze

Freedom hears all through others' voices

Freedom tastes of the sweetest fruit

Freedom is eliminating the whitewashed consumerism

All of my brothers and sisters

Are living comfortably and within their values

And their intentions, bold as they are

Violation of the mind, body and spirit

Need not enter my space or anyone else's

Our survival is worth more

Than silver and gold

The journey we're taking

Is extremely priceless

Our stories are our lives

Some told, some untold

We're all rich in community

Rich in spirit, full of energy

The rallying cries reverberate for miles

In honor of our autonomies

Our ancestors

Our siblings

Our community

Be intentional in your healing

Be unapologetic

Be mindful

Be grateful for making it so far along your journey

Create a beautiful space for yourself

As well as others, for safety and inclusion

I'm more aligned with my intention

Through bravery, love, consent, creativity, care and community.
