In Your Mind

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

In your mind

You think you are a shark

A predator in the deep waters of reality

Stealthily circling the ocean

Thinking your wit is a powerful

And a dangerous weapon

And a sign of your superior intellect

While waiting and searching for innocent prey

To attack, mock and shame

With glee and delight

But in reality, in truth…

You are simply a sloppy drunkard

Wallowing in murky waters of delusion

Your words are simply

Vomit dribbling out of your mouth

Into the amber liquid

Of your own self-perceived specialness

While you stay wrapped up in moral relativism

Ultimately, it is a very strange concept you don't understand

When you take the time to self-reflect

The idea that your hubris can never quite grasp

Just how truly you are perceived

And that it is the other drunkards

Stumbling around pissing their pants

In uncontrolled pretentiousness

That are your only kindred spirits

The rest of us think

You are a piece of shit
