In Winding Walls

A journey through the Moaj-Adib

Eternal azure sand stretched in every direction.

Beside me stood a beast, sacks of blue blood bursting from its rusted iron armor.

It nudged me with its spear wrapped in spirits’ light. I carried on, rope binding my calloused hands.

A pair of concrete doors decorated with sprawling hands,

fingers gripped the stone

along its intersecting seam.

Armies molded from the subtle gray fought still battles

upon the surface.

They open.

A greeting slipped from my mouth.

Transparent skin adrift idly over its corpus,

We locked eyes.

I stepped into the winding halls,

the path rich with oil-smeared mahogany.

The world behind

faded into infinity.
