Mirror of God

Confronting your demons

He came alone to the station.

Whistling desert winds

whispered iliads

in his ears.

Plodding amongst

pearls of beige

and touches of taupe,

he met stones

black as void

rich with splashes

of gold.

Walls of ruby

cast into

celeste,

the mirrors’ gateway

caught his gaze.

He sought the

darkened path—

illuminated by glassy

crystals, reflection ridden

and tranquil.

Stretched along glowing,

gleaming lines

he trod towards a centerset circle.

Meat hooks danced

atop its sandstone face.

A conjuring had begun.

Plumes of

obsidian smog from

edges unknown

decorated the sanctuary.

He stood before Oblivion.

It called back.

In its eyes

embers like suns

raged dying light—

refracting into a

shattered

humanoid corpus.

They touched souls,

and all he begged for

was death.
