In the Erosion

What lies in that unseen space between two bodies, two lives, two existences?

By Benjamin Lopez BarbaPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Here the river rages at such high speeds

The mountain could never keep up

The mountain never moves, never weeps

At its highest elevation, water freezes up

-

But here a cutting closeness bleeds

Lashed by water and carved by stone

The roaring silence of antipodes

Locked arm in arm in sweet erosion

-

There’s a love, a hate beyond our knowing

That keeps energy still and matter flowing

A timeless shore that shifts each day

Where years are set and swept away

-

So kneel and feel upon your face

The river’s lashes and stone’s hard grace

Let cold fusion fill your hands

Drink grains of water and droplets of sand
