Seasons Of Love

Paper chains and strings of popcorn

strung on my tree, of evergreen

Mothers lace, tattered and torn

nearly new, in memories

Lovely thoughts and priceless presents

handmade gifts, hung on the tree

Christmas carols and children's pageants

watching the snow fall wistfully

*

Oh, the carefree days of childhood

cherished moments, held so dear

Laughter makes the heart, understood

the seasons, bringing smiles of cheer

Life keeps changing, keeping pace

with the dance, of time itself

Compelled to continue in this race

a constant change of inner self

*

So, soak it up, these days of pleasure

hold steadfast, to these times of peace

Grab hold of love and all its treasures

with a strength that will not cease

surreal poetry
