In My Bones
I felt the need to slip by and not say a word
But I could not help myself
I had to speak that which I could not at first utter
When I did, nothing came out
Not even a whimper
Suddenly, I landed on something so real
I could not deny it
I felt it seep in me
Down deep
Then a shout came from my belly
And then a sharp whisper
What, what, what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It could not be
It couldn’t be real
Lies upon lies were told to keep me in line
And then
The truth came out
Of which I was not prepared
How could it be that your lies always tainted me?
I should have known because my bones have
Always known
