In Case You Didn't Know
Poem about what home is to me

In case you didn’t know
My home is not where we are.
My home is being prepared,
But you can’t get there by car.
In case you didn’t know,
My home is my not made of wood.
Nor mortar, cement, or metal,
I don’t want to be misunderstood.
In case you didn’t know
I’m in a temporary space,
My body encompasses my soul,
My belongings enclosed in a place.
In case you didn’t know,
Jesus died for my sins.
He invited me to his table,
Where we can all dine in.
In case you didn’t know,
Jesus hung on the cross in shame.
Beaten, tortured, and spat on,
Knowing who was to blame.
In case you didn’t know,
His promise sets me free.
Preparing an eternal home,
The bridegroom goes before me.
In case you didn’t know,
This Earth is not my home.
I will one day be in Heaven,
Because here, I don’t belong.
In case you didn’t know,
Jesus wants you to stay.
He will purify your heart,
And wipe all your tears away.
In case you didn’t know,
My home is in Heaven.
I don’t belong in this place,
I’m only here to leave an impression.
In case you didn’t know,
My daughter is addicted,
My son is having a baby,
And Bi-Polar they are inflicted.
In case you didn’t know,
Jesus never said it would be easy.
Life and sin hit us all hard,
But His Love forever frees me.
In case you didn’t know,
My home is where Jesus is.
Because He died on that cross,
His arms are where I will live.
In case you didn’t know,
Jesus is not religion.
He is a relationship,
Where we all can be forgiven.
In case you didn’t know,
Your home is just temporary.
So come stay at my house,
Where we can be forever family.
