My heart holds many spaces, that I can call my home.

Every year it gets bigger as my heart learns to roam.

Turning forty this year, has me longing for my youth,

But the older that I get, the more I understand my truth.

I’ve spent my time raising six children, who are my life.

Two biological children, left my mind and body in strife.

Once I got passed my weight gain, and looked to who I am,

I only saw someone whose called wife, mom, and woman.

There has got to be more to me than what others have dictated,

So, I set on a journey of truth, as who I truly am had waited.

I tried some new recipes and made some dolls I’d sewn.

Cooking and sewing I began to see, I had always known.

I stepped outside my box and started my own business.

I took treasures from the past and put some life into them.

On the discovery that I loved antiques, and I was nonpareil,

I decided to seek out more loves, that to my heart were non contrary.

I remembered long ago getting lost in stories and rhymes.

So, I downloaded Amazon Kindle, and began to pass the time.

I got lost in the wilderness, slayed the dragon, and was a lost child returned.

I was the princess who needing saving, I was the President of a new world.

My heart became enraptured, by all that I loved before.

I delved deep within, the stories I had so longed for.

I filled my time with antiquing and stories from others hand.

Could I become the writer, my heart would next demand?

I took pen to paper, then typed thought to Microsoft Word.

I discovered I had a lot to say, more than I ever thought I could.

When I began to write, my fingers flew like magic.

Stories began to unfold, about love, monsters, and tragic.

Only eight months into the year, and my heart loves much more.

I was only a mom, housewife, and woman before.

My heart has found new loves, creating forever homes.

I will continue seeking out new loves, that to me are still unknown.

Home is where your happiness lies, and who you truly are.

For me the journey has just begun, but I’m already having a ball.

So, if you are feeling lost, alone, or maybe you’re empty nesting.

Just remember, your home is not the walls, but what you are investing.

It is your heart who holds all the wonders and desires,

Take heed to your emotions and give your heart what it requires.

For in yourself is where you will find your true home lives.

Take that leap of faith and see what the world has to give.
