How were we to measure your value. How can your worth be surmised?
Is it in a kiss or final farewell?
Maybe you are best measured by the emotions you infuse. Marking us, casting imprints on our memories, creating an insatiable desire for more.
You are in all things, vibrant and mundane. The driving force of trying and giving up, beginning again and letting go.
Ever changing, evolving, becoming. until everything we know - is different. Better or worse holds no influence.
Still, we go on.
Ephemeral, you are gone, captured briefly in the wisp of breath, a sigh or laughter. A temporary passing, notching our souls, imprinting forever your merit.
I anticipate what joys you will bestow, in a while.

I Love Ya Tomorrow
Dear tomorrow, If you never come, I understand. If I wake to find all of my tomorrows used up, lying next to me, scrawled into a planner, with all of my best intentions. Thank you. Thank you for delivering me from yesterday. Thank you for the clean slate provided each day, with the rising of the sun. I will rest in the knowing that you were never promised to me, you were and are, a gift. The tomorrow that held my plans, keeping me hopeful, when the days got long and stole my sparkle. You always offered something new, crisp and fresh like the sun on dew dipped daisies. I took it for granted, that you would continually be waiting for my next step into your welcoming arms. The ones that promised and delivered second chances and do-overs. Never failing to pick me up and get my feet back on solid ground. But, if you do decide to come again, I promise to do better. Thoughts on Vocal and the way the world is
"Death cannot stop true love, only delay it." – Wesley in The Princess Bride. I decided to come back to Vocal on a very cold and dark night at the end of December. I had been, and still am, convalescing from a horrible staph infection that had gone misdiagnosed for months. This, paired with the increasing challenges of being healthy, making the best choices for my co-parented child, being a wife, and being a director at a new job, was a lot to manage.

That desire so oft demanding we do all that we can to hold onto the moment, only to find that not only that moment but so many others which followed are lost. How much better it is to look forward to discovering what the moment portends, to capture not the moment but to be ourselves caught up in the flow. I liked it, Kelli.
