Imprint of the Cosmos

Past, Present, and Future colliding

By David MoralesPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Specks of white on a background of black, seemingly countless and unconnected. On our midnight sky's we see them, vast darkness with small white in the distance. Used by many to guide when our bright orange speck tucks itself away to share the space with its other dots. Only here after countless generations do we have a consistent set of dots connected that have found meaning. Orion, Gemini, Pisces, a whole bunch of Latin words most of recognize and can point out looking upwar

Specks of brown dotting my not exactly white but not exactly brown body. These specks are numerable and ripe for connection. It's not until another's touch drawing from one dot to the next that I realize it. A constellation on my chest. The Big Dipper starting from the top of my right of my chest with a speck of light brown no larger than the tip of pin swings upwards to attach itself to three brown downs dots of similar size. The last spot that forms the end of the handle has a white dot at the center. From here it goes across and down to the left side of my upper stomach connecting to an oblong brown dot. It moves from this oblong one to the biggest one in the series then moves down to another oblong and finally to finish the bowl portion it ends at the smallest one of constellation. I like the sun often tuck myself away to let others like me shine. At first thinking that this was wrong but only now realizing I am still shining for others, but I may just not be able to see that just yet. That is up for future generations when they see my white light far after I am gone.

We are all just specks of various shades, shapes, and severities undoubtedly unconnected but not until we reach out to each other do we see the connections. Shine brightly, shine proudly, shine uniquely !
