Image bearers of a King

Your crown is lopsided
You have taken the role of someone who replaces their value for a cheap thrill of likes
The light you thought you spotted
Created a deeper hole
You became addicted to an image
That is just as broken as you are
Yet you think you have found peace
When you are trying to find a piece of you that have been lost
I get it though
The desire to be wanted and like sometimes produces this false perception of thinking the next person has it better
When We all have a hole that needs to be filled
Still
We find everything and anything to close it
Opposing the very one that created us in His image
Trust me
I get it
I get the need for validation
Because when you are validated
You feel accepted
But what happens when who you are accepted by becomes your God?
A facade in your mind that produces chaos in your heart
Far apart from the God who truly knows you
Loves you
And not that love that holds conditions hostage
But that love that renders unlimited supply
You’re more than what the media provides
And Yes we may be social butterflies
But not if we’re still stuck in a cocoon
Leaving no room to be the image we were meant to be
Where’s the key?
The key to unlocking what’s already inside of us
Didn’t you get the memo?
We are more than conquerors
Image bearers of a King
We are made to sing
in His tune
The melodies
of His heart
Which conveys
Acceptance
Like
Wanted
Love
All of the above
Because He above is the image we should be after
